01:34 pm - First timer bearing icons by the hundred
Hey there! I know nobody has posted in this community for a long time, but I'm in the possession of 107 Captain Blood icons and no place to show them off, so I guess it's going to be here. :) I'm afraid I went a little crazy on the screencaps and did most of the whole movie. Most of them are bases, but I rather like them all.
Take as many as you wish, credit isn't necessary but comments are nice. The link will take you to the post on my journal. Enjoy!

05:26 pm - The Tasmanian Devil
Did anyone see the Errol Flynn documentary "The Tasmanian Devil" on BBC4 last night?

I found it very interesting. They interviewed people who had known him as well as experts. Christopher Lee showed off a scar he got from some over-enthusiastic sword slashing from Errol. It also showed him when he was old, which his bio never does, and talked at length about his last girlfriend. His son was very good looking though, and his youngest died from drugs. We recorded it because such programs are hard to come by.

12:19 pm - errol!
yay! i have finally found an errol only comm!
I am a relative new comer to the world of flynn. I didn't know he existed til watching the extras on Pirates of the Caribbean. And I certainly did not know what he looked like until my sister (who was at home due to violin exam in the afternoon) started watching the Sea Hawk on bbc2 (?) a month or so ago. She realised what a delicious pirate film it was (and we love pirate films- and westerns to some extent) so she recorded most of it. Made me watch it, and then we watched it about 10 times after that.

Inevitably we fell in love with Errol, Lu got the box set of 6 films for Christmas, and we watched them all.

My favourite is the Sea Hawk still, but i love Captain Blood (young Errol squee!) and Dodge City.

He is not the type I normally fall for ( see Johnny Depp's eyes and cheekbones, Jeremy Irons' voice and Richard Armitage's smile) but one look at his beaming face erases any tension and anger i might have.

I doubt i would have liked him very much as a person, he seems a bit manipulative and uncaring, but we would have got along ;) But he was unique and iconic, and life loving.

Someone invented an adjective "errolesque" but there is no one who you can compare him to.

bit of a long post.....but he is worth it.

12:46 pm - Question
Hi, I'm new to this community, and I was wondering if we were allowed to post reviews or commentaries on Flynn movies. Just wondering. :)

Great community, btb. It's nice to have a place for all Flynn-lovers to congregate.

What is the truth of Errol's rape charge(s) and/or trial?

Hi! I joined a while ago but I haven't posted anything yet. I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Tara and I just became a Flynn fan last year, though my Mom has always loved him. I've seen most of his movies and I just adore the man. He's my favorite actor of all-time.

So last night I watched My Wicked, Wicked Ways, the movie that they made about Errol I think in the 80s. I've already read the book, though I don't think the movie compares to it. Obviously there's way too much in the book to put into a two hour movie. I actually thought the movie was pretty good though. I was just wondering if any of you have seen it as well and what you thought of it.

Ahh I can't believe I didn't think to join this community earlier. I love love Errol Flynn!! I've seen practically all his movies. But I really want to see "Four's A Crowd." Does anyone know where I can find that?
Also if anyone ever needs any Robin Hood text, I have the entire thing on my computer so feel free to ask =)
